Susan Colbourn is an international and diplomatic historian whose research focuses on transatlantic relations, alliance politics, and nuclear strategy. She received her Ph.D. in History from the University of Toronto in the spring of 2018, where she wrote about NATO’s strategic debates during the long 1970s. Her current book project, entitled Euromissiles: A Transatlantic History, explores the rise and fall of the intermediate-range arms race in Europe, considering the intersections between East-West relations, arms control negotiations, NATO’s internal deliberations, anti-nuclear activism, and advancements in nuclear weapons technologies.
